It’s finally here — baseball
Ok, so the sport itself has been going on since mid-February, but I’m talking about the pristine fields, web gems, and $7 hotdogs that is Major League Baseball.
The Braves — who I predict to be major players in the NL East — got things rolling by beating the defending WS champion Phillies 4-1 Sunday night. My favorite team, the Yankees, will travel to Baltimore for the second of a triple-header on ESPN at 4 p.m., and five games overall tonight if you count the two on ESPN2.
While most of you will be watching the (gulp!) Tar Heels embarrass the Spartans in Sparta once again, I’ll join the Duke Blue Devils in watching Opening Day 2009. Or at least until 9 p.m., when Jack Bauer takes over my TV.
